Transforming a manual event workflow into a scalable, fully customized WordPress event system.
The Challenge
AWC Inc needed a scalable way to manage events without relying on static content and repetitive manual updates. Their previous workflow required editing multiple pages for a single event change, increasing the risk of inconsistencies and outdated information. The default templates from The Events Calendar plugin did not align with their branding or functional requirements, and event listings directed users to internal WordPress pages instead of external registration platforms.
The Solution
I extended and customized The Events Calendar plugin to create a dynamic, branded event system tailored to their needs. Custom templates were developed for multiple event views, event links were modified to route directly to external registration pages, and advanced filtering was implemented to improve usability. The result was a streamlined workflow where event data is managed from a single source, reducing manual effort while improving scalability and user experience.
